Statement

Alayne Sahar is a figurative watercolor painter whose aesthetic depicts the female figure in the natural world where the mood is romantic and the women are portrayed as ardent poetic beings who evoke the soulful side of femininity.

Biography

Trained in drawing and painting since childhood, Alayne completed her Certificate in Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, Md, and has studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, Pa., where she currently resides.

She has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions both within the United States and in Europe. Her work has been shown at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art,National Arts Club in New York, The Las Vegas Design Center and she has had solo exhibitions in Maryland and Pennsylvania.

She has been published in North Light Books- Incite IV, and a series of Imaginaire books, specifically Imaginaire V, VII and X, Who is God series I-!V, and other magazine publications. She has been nominated by Watercolor Artist Magazine three consecutiveyears as one of "Top Ten Artists to Watch". Her work is part of the collection at the Southern Museum of Fine Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She is a Signature Member of the following organizations: Northwest Watercolor Society, Central New York Watercolor Society, International Society for Experimental Artists and the National Association of Women Artists.
