She worked as a freelance writer, has been published on several sites for various types of writing and won a scholarship and fellowship in writing. Her work focuses on income disparity, class differences, recovering the lost, the sensual and natural, and the spiritual creating the material. She has been praised for her innovative, evocative, brilliant writing with a spiritual bent. Also an entrepreneur, she co-founded Allele Genomics and invented the Genomic Risk Score algorithm. Their team won a place in California Lutheran University's program and later won the Central Coast Innovation Awards as one of the region's most promising entrepreneurs. She has taken graduate-level classes at Harvard and has helped spread the word about genomics and functional medicine.
