Statement
LINE speaks to the source of art, the very beginning if you will of creation. It is the making of a mark, the capturing of a moment, an essence, a visual reference that a line reveals.
The calligraphy of the line is a reflection of individual will, a unique indicator of purpose and direction. If the viewer is willing, there is much to be read in each line and in their accumulation.
The lines may show strength or weakness, aggression or aversion, consonance or disharmony, dynamism or chaos, poetry or discord, or hint at something else entirely. Simultaneously the lines may be a veil, a screen, a filter that is meant to both conceal and make visible an enigma.
