Armenian renowned artist, a bright star of the Armenian avant-garde was born in 1956 in Yerevan, Armenia into the family of one of the renowned 600 year old dynasties, the Tevkantz from the ancient Armenian province of Vaspurakan. It was a dynasty of visual artists and spiritual leaders of Armenian orthodox Christianity. His grandfather was a master teacher of Archil Gorky, one of the geniuses of the world contemporary art.

Indeed, Tevkantz's visual art is the exploration of the human unconscious mind by creating irrational images. His art represents unique spiritual views of the invisible and precious inner world of the human soul. He is free to experiment with visions and memories, shaping them into a variety of fantastic forms. Some of them are compositions of a couple of mystic figures that look like extraterrestrial creatures. He is a master of creating the illusion of a dynamic movement.
