Statement
Artist Statement: Bethany Anderson
My prints are biomorphic abstractions of my experiences in nature. Each print evolves gradually, is designed by instinct, and is driven by my interest in nature?s biodiversity, the variety of specialized habitats that support biodiversity, and in nature?s microcosms and macrocosms.
My methodology combines ancient and modern printmaking techniques by integrating techniques such as woodcut and etching with digital art in a single visual expression. Through the integration of concept and methodology, I am spanning a continuum of time that draws parallels between both the evolution of printmaking and the evolution of nature.
