Statement
Life and land forms, layers of space and time and deep nature- drive my work. As environments are changing and balance is turning to discontinuity, a kind of paradox which I believe resides in all deep truth emerges. My work is an exploration of this mystery and energy, and a celebration of the astonishing beauty of life on this planet.
These ideas have always infused my work, in the intaglio etchings that I have done and the new work. Currently I am working on a series of mixed media pieces which are developed with ink drawing, paint and layers of other materials.
Biography
I earned a BA in Fine Art at Long Island University and an MA from the University of New York at Stonybrook, where I began a lifelong commitment to printmaking, especially intaglio etching. I studied drawing and painting at the Art Students League in NY, and color intaglio techniques at Pratt Graphics Manhattan Center, and with Ruth Leaf in Douglaston New York. My intaglio editions have been published in Los Angeles, New York and in London.
