Statement
Drawing is second nature to me, something I’ve done all my life. Life circumstances provided me with the time and opportunity to expand my work into painting. As an artist, everything to me is form and color, which I absorb from all mediums: books, videos, film. Painting was the natural progression from drawing. I have enhanced my technique by taking classes and workshops which I found exhilarating and inspiring.
My current work is in soft pastels, the immediacy and luminosity of which provides the substance to convey the colors that captivate me and accelerate images beyond reality.
I want my work to be a colorist’s dream. Though the work is based upon actual places, they are transformed with color and simplistic lines.
