Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the art of transforming the delapidated into the beautiful!

Rusted doors and peeling paint are magnified and high- lighted to the point where we begin to see them in a whole new light. Old becomes new, defunct becomes living, and rather than function, it is \"form\" that becomes the purpose of these inanimate subjects and their expired registrations

Biography

Erik Fischer, born in historic Aachen, Germany is a former private chef turned photographer. He used to refer to himself as the "chef in exile" while working and traveling the world for various influential families.

Fischer studied art history and drawing, yet at age 16 decided to pursue the culinary arts which led him to Los Angeles and then New York. With his camera as a constant companion, he captured landscapes all over the world while maintaining up to 15 hour work days.

After 24 years in the food industry he decided to hang up his chef's coat and pick up the camera full time. He found that while food is created and consumed immediately , a picture lasts a lifetime. He currently resides in Los Angeles, CA and continues to travel the world, collecting photographs for various projects.
