Gerrad Bohl

Beginning with water colors I soon moved on to working with acrylics attentive to form, relationships, and modulation of colors. My fascination with human anatomical pleasures, its movement and physiology led me to drawing them as my mind interpreted them. These were

further altered in my painted versions ultimately leading to my own abstractions.

Although I enjoyed the freedom of abstraction, I never left the concepts of precision or intent in any way of my works. I am strongly influenced by the work of graffiti artists, such as Bansky, Xenz, and Allen Dalla. They inspire me because they take risks. There is always the risk in having their works destroyed or painted over. It is the most current trend of Dada and akin to Buddhist sand paintings. I am also inspired by the pop art of Andy Warhol, but more so inspired by his life and the people who surrounded him.

This past year, nine of my large works on canvas were wielded by Heidi Klum for the 2012 season of Germany’s NEXT TOP MODEL. Tresor Productions had also commissioned me to create two more works for that show that is seen internationally.

In the summer of 2012, my work was shown at Harvey's on Beverly with Tony Clark.
