Gregory Tan

Statement
Greg has longed to create art that does not scream for attention or demand to be in the limelight.
He has always preferred that the music he composes take second nature to whatever else the listener might be doing at that specific point in time.
By combining classical instruments such as the piano, violin and cello with modern rock elements, Greg has taken it upon himself to push the boundaries of genre classification within the musical realm while simultaneously retaining enjoyable melodies that rivet between peaceful emotivism and blaring walls of sound, paralleling the concept of an echo that bounces back and forth at unpredictable frequencies.
Greg’s music has been labelled under post-rock, ambient, modern-classical, progressive, soundtrack and shoegaze categories, yet this does not serve as a limitation to Greg’s creative approach in recognizing the endless myriad of possible sounds humans can achieve when paired with instruments.
