The aspect of repeatedly sanding and repainting the multi-layered paper and acrylic paint plays into the mystery of suggestion rather than any categorical statement. I am never quite sure what will be present on the panel by the time I feel it is finished, which creates an element of surprise for me and is also an expression of the infinite complexities that I continually find surrounding me. I have a feeling of the intangible and of freedom when I work and my quest is to cull this vivid chaos into a freer yet more peaceful, organized surface that I call my finished artwork.
