Irina Voloshina

Born in Odesa, Ukraine, Irina Voloshina began playing violin at 6. She studied at Odessa Music School and Odessa State Conservatory, then played with the Odessa Philharmonic for nine years. Since 1993, she's performed with Pasadena Symphony and Pops, LA Opera, and recorded over 600 film scores, earning acclaim from LA Times. During the pandemic, she founded "Melodia Mariposa," hosting 65+ free concerts. She was named Volunteer of the Year in 2021 by Congresswoman Judy Chu and received a two commendations from Supervisor Kathryn Barger in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, Melodia Mariposa Nonprofit plans free concerts at Davies Memorial Building in Farnsworth Park, Altadena, sponsored by LA County Supervisor K. Barger, The Peter Stormonth Darling Charitable Trust, LA County Department of Parks and Recreation and Altadena Rotary Club on February 3, April 13, June 29, and August 31, and the concert for Harmony Within Exhibition opening celebration at Plummer Park, West Hollywood on April 28th, along with 5 outreach performances for residents of Twelve Oaks Senior Center in Glendale and patients of Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, supported by MonteCedro Senior Living in Altadena.
