Jayson Halberstadt

I began making art and creating original characters as a. toddler, and never stopped improving and trying new things. I transitioned from pencils and paper to digital art, to better suit my art style. Most of my work consists of anthropomorphic animals, oftentimes inspired by video games, movies, and the furry community. I am currently working on my first graphic novel, with a story and characters I could hopefully adapt for other media.

Jayson is a cartoonist with a degree in Graphic Design Technology and a Certificate in Graphic Design Support, and also has studied cartooning under former Disney animator, Al Baruch. His art has been shown in several venues, including the Amtrust Bank in Wellington, Artserve in Fort Lauderdale, Stage 84 in Davie, The SOHO Gallery for Digital Art in NYC and the Philadelphia Zoo. He has donated artwork to several charities, including the Friendship Circle of Fort Lauderdale, Project Lifesaver and FAU CARD, to be auctioned for fundraising. He also donated three golf targets for the Autism Society of Broward’s children’s golf program and created a logo for them. In addition, Jayson collaborated with artist William Bock to create a public art, ocean-themed picnic table which was donated to the Special Olympics and can be seen outside their office at Nova University. He’s been recognized for his community efforts and work in the arts in the Our City Weston and the Weston Lifestyle magazines as well as the Philly Burbs. He was honored as a Powerful Kid semi-finalist by the Chris Evert Children’s Hospital and has volunteered at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, drawing cartoons for young patients. Jayson has sold original artworks, as well as many prints, and had three drawings published in the Summer 2011 Edition of Virge Magazine and another three in the Fall 2011 edition. He was published in the Asperkids’ Coloring Book and Uncommon Minds by Cynthia Drucker.
