Kikki Eder

Reality is subjective. We all have our interpretations of what we see around us and often times we don’t notice much of the world around us. My paintings convey the ordinary world and the real world in new and extraordinary ways. The color and movement in my work is there to connect the viewer to life around them with emotion and passion. In this way, I hope to start a dialog with the viewer about our connections to and with daily life.

Ms. Eder first began her art studies in design, photography, and calligraphy at Immaculate Heart College in Los Angeles. She then attended San Diego City College and graduated from the Technical Illustration program. For the next 13 years Ms. Eder worked as a Technical and Graphics Illustrator for companies that included Disney Imagineering. In 2007 Kikki began painting under the mentorship of artist Margaret Garcia. Since then, she has exhibited at Casita del Pueblo in Whittier (two-person show with Margaret Garcia), Heritage Square, the Casa de Adobe, Brooklyn/Boyle Gallery, and KGB Gallery in Los Angeles, and the Fremont Gallery in South Pasadena, where Ms. Eder had her first solo show in April 2010.
