My current work begins with my own experience of life after menopause. Meaningful conversations with close friends and family have helped me understand that many of the beliefs I carry about aging, intimacy, desire, and shame are not mine alone. My paintings explore how learned shame has shaped what we reveal, what we hide, and what we allow ourselves to desire. The art is about seeing ourselves honestly, releasing what was never warranted, and staying connected to who we are now and who we have always been.

Lianne Jedeikin Goldsmith is a Zimbabwe-born artist who has lived in Los Angeles for 37 years. She has studied with Rembrandt scholar Zhenya Gershman for eight years and continues her training in portraiture, life drawing, art history, large-scale painting, and traditional media including oil, pastel, and charcoal.

Her work has evolved through an ongoing exploration of colonialism, culture, and identity. Her current paintings consider the relationship between aging and desire, particularly how women experience sensuality, friendship, and their changing sense of self.
