Manan Garoukyan

Biography

I was born on 13.09.1972. in t. Vanadzor.I received a secondary education from 1978-1986 at British-based school No. 172. My musical education I received at Sayat-Nova music school, violin class, then studied and graduated from the R. Melikian Music College string section.

From 1990 - 1991 I served as the Armenian National Children's Symphony Orchestra as an artist and I had a concert tour of the provinces and in the United States: New York and Washington.

From 1991-1996 I studied and graduated from the Yerevan State Conservatory string department violin grade, directed by Professor A. Mkrtchyan.

Simultaneously from 1992 - 2000 I worked in Armenia Philharmonic Orchestra, as an artist. In 1995 we had concerts in France - Marseille Opera Theater.

From 2000 - 2002 I worked in Armenia Youth Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra named “Renaissance”.

Since 2002 I am the president of the '' Notes'' a cultural and charitable organization, which programs are disabled to retired musicians issues. This NGO organized numerous concerts, exhibitions, demonstrations,in which I took part as an artist.Then I founded the “New quintet”, a group that operates so far.

From 2003 - 2004 I worked for Armen Akob studio-orchestra.

In 2004, half a year, I worked at the State Conservatory Opera Studio Orchestra.

In 2008, I came to Canada on May 15-30 and had charity recitals in Montreal, Toronto cities along with pianist Arus Ajemian.

Group members are professional musicians with great experiance,who has been worked on many chamber and simphonic orchestras.

Founder of the group is Manan Garoukyan,who is " New quintet" 's artistic director and the first violinst at the same time.

The great aim of the quintet is to propogate armenian,russian, europian and american composers works in new original style.This is a concert group,which have experimental orientation and it includes different music instruments time by time. On their programm they have such composers works as Mozart,Brahms,Bach, Chaikovsky, Shtrause, Elgar,Lehar, Gryunfield, Joplin, Beatles,Gershwin,Kern Piazzolla, Komitas-Aslamazyan,Altounyan, Spendiaryan,Shakaryan and Pipoyan.

"New quintet" has his debut on march 7, 2006 in "Narekatsi art institute" together with composer Stepan Shakaryan. Concert has been dedicated to woman's international day.
