Maria Bjorkdahl

Maria Bjorkdahl was born in Morocco and raised in Sweden. She moved to the US in 1984 to attend graduate school at San Francisco State University. In 2004 Bjorkdahl took up fine arts inspired by studio art/art history classes at El Camino College and Dominguez Hills State University.

Bjorkdahl is a visual artist working predominantly in oil. Her figurative work has an expressive narrative quality and centers on the body.

Her work has been exhibited at Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery at Barnsdall Park and City Art Gallery in Long Beach.

Recently she has diversified into co-curating shows: Tel-Art-Phone at the Beacon Arts Building and Smorgasbord Art Show at Sangria Fine Arts.
