Statement
As an artist, my inspiration comes from the melodic and poetic context of a song or an aria. It stems from the desire to express the feelings and emotions of the character I am portraying with my vocal interpretation. As soon as I set my foot on stage, I am communicating in a language not bound by race or culture, a language everyone speaks but no one can ever write the words to. In this moment of human inspiration, I feel truly alive and free, a creature of music. The art of song is one of the most beautiful forms of an individual expression, creativity, sincerity and emotional content. My goal is to sing the songs that people really love, remember and can relate to. The art of communication with the live audience makes each performance valuable to me. I give the audience a sense of belonging and togetherness, uniting people of the diverse backgrounds and cultures through music - this is my biggest joy and satisfaction.
