These pieces are relatable for those in various stages of undress in their battle of the fight of illness or the illusion of one. What it is or pretends to be, how it decides to kill or consume it finds no home were it is not welcomed without the dark and dank but we give it shelter in society and dress it up well and call it progress and fill it up with more meds and more psychology and new names and diagnosis and more and more and more..

Marlena Nicole Guzman-

As a former (Ret.) Los Angeles Police Officer (17 years), working and living in Los Angeles has provided a unique perspective and influence to my artwork. The most influential would be my continued success as a functioning adult living with Bipolar Disorder.

Most of my art reflects my depiction of challenges and reflection as anyone dealing with life hurdles.

My catalog of work is primarily Non-objective and usually use a palate of only three colors; back, white and grey.

I have had the privilege to be featured at the California State University of Northridge gallery showing of "Beautiful Parts" which depicted the perception of beauty through various points of view. I've also shown with Lark during the "Brain Art" Exhibit.

I presented three pieces at the Channel Islands annual art Auction in early 2018 and was a headline feature presenter and article subject for NAMI's (the National Alliance for Mental Illness), July issue of Minorities in Art.
