Marlena Guzman

This piece is one that represents a metaphor for the brain and a lifetime on psychotropic meds and dealing with navigating (the pill bottles are constructed in the shape of a maze and two mice trying to traverse it) life on/off/over and under the choices of paths.

A 16 year veteran of the LAPD, working and evolving all with the challenges of Bipolar and Borderline Personality Disorders. I have two beautiful daughters, one of which was also challenged and thriving with a schizophrenia diagnosis. I have been painting since I was a child always combining mixed mediums.
