OLENA CHERNIAVSKA

I am a metamodernist artist. My works are my experiences of witnessing tragic events in family and collective history, the complex interaction of an individual striving for freedom and a totalitarian country, transforming the experience of immigration.

My art is my way of sharing with viewer research into the metaphysical processes within us through our reflections based on the ideas and values ​​of humanism, through sensations, properties of the soul and personal experience. My artworks reflect the transformation of the soul following the path of development, striving to make this world a better place. My special interest is expressing the feeling of movement material and immaterial, creation forms and visual images of such subtle concepts as energy and thought. I share my ideas with the viewer through metaphors and symbols. The idea in my work is the leader and determines the method of embodiment. My work can awaken in the viewer a feeling familiar to everyone, when in childhood we sought to know what is beyond the horizon - somewhere beyond our perception there is something that we cannot yet see, but we know that it exists. This search and expectation of the unknown is a key element of my work. It is important for me to leave a motivating message for future generations.

I’m from Ukraine. I came to USA in 2019. In 2022 I felt that I wanted to express my inner ideas end energy through collages and this process was very inspiring and fulfilling for me. In 2024 I started creating paintings, using textures, acrylic. My paintings have received 12 certificates of participation in online Biafarin platform and participated in several group exhibitions in 2024. Artsy selected my paintings to be featured on it.
