It was hell. I?ve been a painter for over 60 years, and not being able to work at what I love was maddening.
So I found an ?art? software program and began figuring out how to use it to make paintings on my computer. Several years later I replaced my desktop printer (with which I printed my ?paintings?) with a n Epson pigment inkjet printer (sprays pigment inks, not dye-based inks).
I use 5 software programs, a laptop, and an Intous tablet and stylus to make my ?paintings?.
Mu current work is based on two family photo albums from 1918 which my Norwegian grandmother gave me. I find some suitable background and digitally create a ?collage? by ?painting? the figure(s) over the selected background. After this is done I can then alter the color, lighting, and size.
