Statement
I cut free hand with scissors from my imagination & sketches to create the details that become my artwork. Each cut piece of paper has been painted with acrylics & glued together with rolled paper to give dimension. The building of the scene is the most satisfying part of the process. Acrylics allow for such color saturation that often times the color laid down dictates the subject of my artwork. Although the cutting can be tedious - it is a meditative. I appreciate handling the paper and being able to cut it up into whatever shape I need. It has been an amazing challenge to think in dimension and it is what makes me excited to move on to my next piece. I do the work individually and do not get help from apprentices or assistance.
